The first ever launch of the Vega rocket from French Guiana took place today, 13th February 2012, at 10:00 UTC precisely on time.
The payload consists of two Italian satellites ñ ASIís LARES laser relativity satellite and the University of Bolognaís ALMASat-1 ñ as well as seven picosatellites provided by European universities: e-St@r (Italy), Goliat (Romania), MaSat-1 (Hungary), PW-Sat (Poland), Robusta (France), UniCubeSat GG (Italy) and Xatcobeo (Spain).
